Snowboarding

Wow, it's been a month since I have written anything...and this isn't even running related.

Miranda and I made the trek to Mad River Mountain on Tuesday January 26. It was Miranda's first time snowboarding and my first time since 1993. She and I stayed on the 3 little bunny hills all night. It started off R-O-U-G-H and she was p1553d! Kevin, PatChuck, Greg (from Cincy) and Martin came over to ride down with us a couple of times. BIG thanks to Martin Malley for taking some time out of his session to show Miranda what to do (since I had no idea having only gone twice in my life). The next run she made it almost all the way down the hill without bailing.

The rest of the night she did really well. I made all the way down once without falling. We hung out in the lodge for about a 1/2 hour afterwards. I wish I would have listened to my gut (and not super cool snow-bro rental guy) and rented boards with the step in bindings instead of the strap in bindings. I spent a lot of the night strapping and unstrapping our boots from our boards.

Had a great time with Miranda and it was cool to hang out with some friends. Can't wait until next year. In order to qualify this for my running blog, I've got this: I plan having my first run in six weeks on Sunday January 31.
