sunday..Sunday..SUNDAY!!!

Ahh, a gorgeous spring Sunday.  I slept in until 9:00 this morning.  That sounds great but I really did myself a disservice.  I ended up having a headache because I was three hours late for my daily caffine dosage.  In other fail news, I need to be better about eyballing the map.  I inadvertently added almost two mile to my long run today.  I was only supposed to do 10 miles but ended up doing 11.7.

In news of teh win:  I may not be fast but I can go the distance.  This week concluded a distance challenge with a friend of mine. Although she won our speed challenge, I crushed her in our distance challenge.  It's the typical tortoise and the hare scenario.  Better luck next time.

52 weaks

May 26, 2008 was the first time I ran with my Nike+ for my iPod.  365 days later I have 250 runs and 1327.66 miles under my belt at an average pace of 10'56" per mile.  Since I started out at about 16 minutes per mile in February 2008, I think that's a pretty big accomplishment.  I celebrated by giving myself the day off from work and running 4.8 miles.  Hooray for me.  I'll try not to break my arm whilst patting myself on the back.

I'm not Lebron

I'm not Lebron James, so I don't know why I wear basketball shorts when I run. This tends to get more problematic when running longer distances as it gets hotter outside.  They tend to "retain water" making them heavier; thus making me look like an extra in a hip hop video because I have to keep pulling them up.

10.75 uneventful miles today.  Other than I accidentally scared a lady who was riding a bicycle when when I walked through the hole in the trail fence at Bethel Rd & 315

I'm working on my running playlist for added awesomosity on my runs.  For some reason I dig running to the Donna's and Boucning Souls.  If only I could listen to Tom Petty's "Running Down a Dream" for two hours.  It's the perfect tempo for me.

Time Off

Time off, not from running but from work.  I'm hyped up for my five day mini-vacation.  I'm hoping to get some good runs in but I hope today wasn't a harbinger of sorrow. (Sorry for the Metallica quote,  I'm not feeling very creative. I'll notify my attorney of the impending cease and desist).

I went for a fiveish mile run today (actually 2.4 miles, stop and then 3.1 miles).  I ran really hard for the 2.4 because I was late.  When I met my friend to run the 5k I was just tapped.  I've got a day off tomorrow and then a 10 miler on Sunday.  With any luck, resting tomorrow will rejuvenate my hamstrings.
